New Unissued Original USGI M81 Woodland Camouflage Helmet Cover for the M1 Steel Pot — Cold War Era, Genuine U.S. Military Surplus
An original, never-issued U.S. government cover for the M1 steel helmet, in the M81 Woodland camouflage pattern adopted with the 1980s Battle Dress Uniform. It comes from the steel pot’s final years of service, just before the Kevlar PASGT helmet replaced it. The cover has foliage slits for tucking in natural camouflage. We tested it on an M1 steel pot, and it fits perfectly. It works best held in place with a cat eye helmet band, and it gives a bare steel pot its 1980s Cold War look.
